T O P I C R E V I E WYanmorgDo people with these placements retreat in their shells when they feel strongly about someone? Will they act like Cancers when it comes to approaching a love interest? For example, My Taurus Sun/Moon with Venus/ Mars in Cancer tends to go off and disappear after we've spent some time together and all of our time together is intense, passionate, and loving. Is this normal? How should I handle these moments? Me being a Scorpio with Venus/Mercury in Scorpio find it difficult to deal with this distance.hannaramaaRetreat into their shells when they feel strongly about someone... hahahahahaha NO. Cancers will immediately want to claim you as theirs and start nesting. Cancer is a cardinal sign, so they have similar behavior to Aries, Libra, and Capricorn. Cancers are feminine water signs sure, but they are PUSHY when they want something.starmooni know someone with these placements (mars and venus in cancer) and it is shocking how forward and pushy he has been. i thought he would be a meek cancer, but not at all. i have found that the more time we spend together the more time he wants to spend together (gets attached fast). you know, i think it really makes a difference what the synastry aspects are and how 'into' you the person is. it hasn't been my experience that they want space - quite the opposite.starrystratosphere quote:Originally posted by hannaramaa:Retreat into their shells when they feel strongly about someone... hahahahahaha NO. They won't give people chances and will flee when they feel unsure.I think of Mars in Cancer as an impenetrable fortress.starrystratosphere quote:Originally posted by Kerosene: Very true!Mars in cancer can be efficient but for all the wrong reasons.their drive and energy is exerted in security.Nesting is a priority for them. They aren't cowards but won't take the necessary risks.. It means you are sincere and genuine with your motives and feelings. I don't understand floozy people and nor do I care to waist my time with them. That's truth 101 with Cancer Mars.BeareeI'm a Taurus sun with moon/venus/mars in cancer and i definitely do not agree with hannaramaa.I take things verrryyyy slow and retreating in my shell when i feel strongly about someone does sound familiar to me. Although this retreating would not take very long for me. Usually 2 days? Not longer than that. I don't know exactly what it is, but I get overwhelmed with al these intense feelings I have, so I have to take time off. (maybe because of my venus opposite uranus aspect? not sure)It has nothing to do with my interest in that person, they're definitely strong, yes that's the reason actually. And because of that, I feel like I can't handle it at a certain moment, especially after a long intense, joyful day that with that person. So if that person is anything like me, you should not be afraid (or whatever negative feeling you get) of this behaviour!I only speak for myself obviously but I'm not very direct with my love interest. It's always the little things I do which make it obvious I like that person a lot, other than that, you won't see me saying things out loud. Too scared to do that ;pHow you can handle these moments? If you think this person likes you, just reassure him/her. Make it obvious for that person that you like him too and I'm pretty sure that person will make their feelings obvious too =)Plutonic Capricorn^^ hoi lieverd.. jij hebt aparte chart want je zon maan en asc blijft hetzelfde bij vedic en tropical? YanmorgHe has his Venus opposite uranus!YanmorgI know it couldn't be he wasn't THAT interested because he does little things that shows he cares plus his Mercury in Aries and his Taurus Sun/Moon makes him extremely direct and straightforward a. He has venus opposite uranus and Venus/mars in cancer and the description above was dead on. I understand completely now.SoujiroSetaI'm Cancer sun/mercury/mars.My family says the same thing to me all the time. The thing is, my mood governs everything. I'm generalizing when I say this, but I would assume people with cancer placements know what I mean.If I'm not in the mood, then I'm not in the mood. It has nothing to do with "avoiding", or "trying to distance myself" or any of that. I'm simply just no in the mood to be in contact or see anyone while the "mood swing" still exist, and I'd rather just be left alone. It doesn't matter who is trying to contact me (mother, sister, etc). I simply need alone time and my family always says stuff like "how can you not want to talk to us?". Ofcourse each mood swing is different. For instance I might not be in the mood to go out and see people, but I don't mind if people want to come over. Or vice versa, i might want to go out, but by myself only.Ofcourse I'm only speaking for myself, but I think you're just experiencing his mood swings. After seeing you, he might not be in the mood to do anything for a while as long as the mood swing last (days/weeks/whenever), and he needs time to recharge.I would say don't try to force him out of his recharge period but you can bring it to his attention in a non "why are you acting like this YES I'm confronting you about this" manner.YanmorgThat's exactly what I do and you would think I would try a different approach since I usually get nowhere with that one, but I think my mars in Sagittarius is the one to blame. My impulses take over my whole entire being at that moment and I just have to react to his behavior instead of continuing to do my own thing and wait it out. I've actually had quite a few moments where I would wait it out and he always came around and better than ever. Things are smooth sailing when I just let him be but sometimes my intense emotions take over and I react off of that instead of analyzing the situation. Plus, it doesn't help that his Sun AND moon is in Taurus. This just makes him more intervertebral and slow to react depending on his mood swings. It's so frustrating but I love these same qualities about him because it's what I lack and desire for myself.YanmorgAnd the only reason why I'm pretty sure his behavior is not motivated by a lack of interest is because he's done too many things to show he cares. He bought me the same necklace he bought his mom last Christmas, he always pumps my gas at the gas station even if I'm the one going in to pay, he holds doors open for me, he gives me his coat when were outside and it's cold, he makes my bed, he spends time with me even though I know he had something more productive or money-oriented to do (this is only sometimes), and I've met his closest friends and he has told his parents about me. He has also told me he loves me, but until I hear it from him sober, I won't allow myself to believe it even though he's told he has never been in love before our relationship. I still don't want to get my hopes up just yet. And although these are things that still could possibly not mean he's interested, I mean it's been over a year already. I doubt he would waste his valuable time.charlieCancers chase when they know they want something and become wishy washy when they don't know what they want.StarlightSmileSupreme quote:Originally posted by Yanmorg:Do people with these placements retreat in their shells when they feel strongly about someone? He went there to get away from people and he liked being there. He grew up as an only child, too, so he was used to being alone, sometimes.StarlightSmileSupreme quote:Originally posted by hannaramaa:Retreat into their shells when they feel strongly about someone... hahahahahaha NO. It's mostly when they aren't happy they retreat into their "shells" if you want to call it that. They go off on their own and if they can, they will complain to someone they feel is on their side and will comfort them. Cancer placements LOVE to be consoled first and foremost. astrologI have Venus in Cancer and will express this tendency when I am in love. Yes can very pushy and when insecure can be possessive. When hurt there will be a wall put between the person. But overall Venus in Cancer is very caring and will smother the person with love and care. Not good for people who loves freedom LOLlibran_girl_1891Interesting question... And I have experienced this sometimes with a Gemini Sun, Venus & Mars Cancer guy. There's the time when they suddenly overwhelm you with closeness for some time and then just as suddenly retreat for God knows what reason.
